 *This retreat completely and totally exceeded all expectations. The morning started with a beautiful sunrise as we overlooked Midway Lake. With a low rumble of thunder in the distance and a gentle breeze, we set intentions of movement, flow, peace, grounding, and healing for the day ahead. The day unfolded just so, and we are so very grateful for all who participated with open hearts and minds. A special thanks to all of our practitioners and the Comeca staff, for all of your hard work, time, and energy! 
Join The Alternative & The Well Haus for a day centered around self-wellness and complete BALANCE. This unique one-day retreat is set at the beautiful Comeca Camp & Retreat Center- Cozad, NE with a peaceful environment and stunning views. Attendees can expect to participate in interactive presentations and therapeutic activities led by multiple experts. Prepare to pamper and rediscover yourself through a day of self-care including yoga, meditation, breathwork, sound bath, energy healing, coaching, connection, and so much more. Flowers & Friends- 10.7.23 / 10:00 am

If you’re looking for something both relaxing and productive to do for your well-being, join us at the Flowers & Friends Plant Exchange event on October 7th, 2023, at 10 a.m. Bring your plant/s and exchange with friends and strangers to create new beauty in and around your home! What a great opportunity to discover a like-minded community of people and also to play in the dirt and do a little grounding. Win-Win!

UPDATE 9/17/22: The second annual Flowers & Friends Plant Exchange was a success and GROWING! Yes, we exchanged a variety of nature’s beauty, but even more beautiful than that was the comradeship this event brought as well. No doubt there are therapeutic perks to tending to one’s garden, flowerbeds, and/or indoor plants, but this was also a great reminder of how uplifting it can be to simply “speak” the same language with others for a moment when it comes to topics that bring you joy!  Find your joy folks.. and then, find your “tribe.”

earthing/ grounding

Earthing is as simple as the name! By definition, it is when any part of your body makes contact with the earth’s surface thousands of studies have shown the exchange between electrons can actually help reduce and improve a large list of health concerns such as regulating blood pressure, reducing inflammation, and chronic pain. The earth grounding also helps relieve anxiety and depression, increases energy, and helps those who are struggling with a lack of sleep.

The easiest way to experience these benefits is to simply take your shoes off and sit under a shade tree while out enjoying the spring and summer weather!

Mindfulness

The quality or state of being conscious or aware of the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.

Being mindful does not need to be complicated. For those new to new to mindfulness, here are just few simple activities and projects to warm up your mindful muscles!

  • Make a journal

  • Clean the workspace

  • Do some light stretching

  • Read a book

  • Listen to music

  • Get outdoors for a walk

  • Write out affirmations
